Vera Earl Ranches

A family-owned working cattle ranch based in Sonoita, AZ.

IN THE SONOITA VALLEY

VERA EARL RANCH

Family-owned and operated since 1968, the Vera Earl Ranch is nestled in the heart of the Sonoita Valley. Over the years, the ranch has grown in acreage by acquiring land leases and entering into partnerships with other ranches, including both the historic Empire and Sands Ranches. Now, spanning from the base of Santa Rita Mountains in the west, across the valley and over the Whetstones to the San Pedro River in the east, each part of the ranch is managed by sustainable grazing and ranching, with the goal of enhancing the entire ecosystem.

WE RAISE EFFICIENT, HIGH-MARBLING CATTLE

The Cattle

We strive to raise efficient, high-marbling cattle that not only thrive on our Arizona ranches, but provide the best tasting beef. On the Vera Earl, we raise Black Angus and Black Angus cross cows, breeding them to Black Angus and Charolais Bulls.  The bulls are carefully selected based upon their genetic traits to produce both adaptable offspring and high marbling beef.

PREMIUM BEEF

VERA EARL PREMIUM BEEF

At Vera Earl Premium Beef, we’re proud to offer more than just top-quality beef — we provide a true ranch-to-table experience that brings the spirit of Southern Arizona to every bite. Our cattle are born and raised right here on Vera Earl Ranch, where they graze freely on open pastures and are cared for with respect and attention to not only their well-being, but that of the surrounding species and land. They’re finished on a carefully balanced corn-based ration and taken to harvest only when they’re truly ready, ensuring exceptional marbling, tenderness, and flavor. Each cut of Vera Earl Premium Beef would grade High Choice or Prime and is dry-aged for 21 days, further enhancing its rich, buttery texture and depth of flavor. From our ranch, to your family dinner table, we aim to share not just a meal, but a genuine taste of ranch life — one that celebrates quality, care, and the heritage of Arizona ranching.

FOUNDED BY OUR GRANDFATHER BURTON BECK

VERA EARL History

The original Vera Earl Ranch was founded by our grandfather Burton Beck in 1968.  It was run, and still is, as a cow calf operation comprised of rolling grasslands and mountains. In 1977 Burton Beck passed away and the ranch continued to be run by his wife Bettie Ann until her passing in 2000. Mrs. Beck continued her husband’s dream remaining on the ranch and continued to run the ranch as a cow calf operation and furthered his quarter horse operation.
